Fort Formally Surrendered

A formal surrender ceremony is held at Fort Sumter. Bands play,
a 50 gun salute is rendered and the Untied States flag is lowered.
Unfortunately during the surrender ceremony the only serious
casualties occur. There is an accidental explosion which kills one
private and mortally wounds another. 4 other are injured.

In Washington DC Abraham Lincolns calls for 75,000 volunteers
to put down the rebellion.
