Fort Sumter Crises Continues

The Steamer Baltic with naval agent Gustavus Fox aboard sails
from New York bound for Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor.
President Lincoln devotes his day to minor political appointments.

The Confederate Cabinet in Montgomery concurs with President
Davis's order to General Beauregard that Fort Sumter should be
reduced before the relief fleet arrives.
