Peace Commission Established

In Montgomery the provisional Congress of Confederate States
establishes a
Peace Commission and assume the authority to negotiate on the
federal forts
that are in dispute.

Presidents Traveling

Both Jefferson Davis and Abraham Lincoln are traveling towards
their respective capitols. Davis leaves from Vicksburg and is
headed to Montgomery making stops on the way. Lincoln is
traveling between Indianapolis and Cincinnati making stops as
well.
