Confederate Fall Back

The Confederates under General P.G.T. Beauregard fall back
towards Manasses Junction on news of the advance of the
Federal Army under
General Irwin McDowell. Beauregard informs
President Davis and asks for reinforcements from Confederate
General Joseph Johnston in the Shenandoah Valley. The
Confederates in the haste abandon equipment and supplies
around Fairfax Courthouse.
