North in Mourning for Douglas

Confederate troops perform a reconnaisance against Federal
Forces from Yorktown to Newport News, Virginia. Federal forces
blockage Apalachicola, Florida.

During the funeral of Senator Douglas, President Lincoln receives
no visitors. Government departments, municipal governments,  
and schools in the North are closed to honor Senator Douglas.
The White House is draped in black mourning colors. Joseph
Gawler, cabinet maker and undertaker, provides the cloth for
"Draping the Building" He charges approximately $45 for the cloth
to do so.
