Confederate Congress Adjourns

In Montgomery the Confederate Congress adjourns. President
Davis appoints  William Lowndes Yancey, Pierre A. Rost, and A
Dudley Mann as commissioners to the United Kingdom with the
aim of getting the United Kingdom recognize the Confederate
State of America as a nation. Major Robert Anderson at Fort
Sumter in Charleston Harbor is in daily communication with
Washington, DC. He is keeping them apprised of the situation in
the harbor.
