| North Carolina Admitted to Confederacy President Lincoln attends the funeral services at Navy Yard for Col. Abram S. Vosburgh, 71st New York Regiment. The cabinet rides with the President in funeral procession to railway station at 2:30 P.M. The G. S. Humphrey and Co., importers, 524 Broadway, New York, submits bill for $116.50 for carpetings purchased by Mrs. Lincoln. North Carolina becomes the 10th state to secede, the state has already been admitted into the Confederacy. Richmond, Va. is designated the new Confederate capitol by the Confederate Congress. The State of Missouri declares it's neutrality in the war. |
